First, I wish to thank everyone at Royal. We arrived May 15, after a year and a half of anticapation. My girl-friend,Kellie,is in a wheelchair,so mobility is always an issue. The owner drove us up to the bank(dig),assigning a young man to get Kellie set up.He stayed pretty much all day with us,assisting Kellie with whatever she needed. Don't get me wrong, she did her own digging, but he revealed his unique tale that led him to working at Royal Peacock. He informed us of the history of Virgin Valley,(a story in itself). Also of what and how to focus our efforts on. We had seen an episode on the Travel Channel, where it seemed like everybody at Royal was so nice and helpful to the hostess.I had tried to prepare Kellie for what I thought was reality. You know where the t.v people get special attention.Wrong, everyone was super nice .. We stayed a couple days ,found 2 five gallon buckets.Kellie has spent the next9 months working her OPALS,joining a rock and gem club, cutting polishing and just plain having the time of her life So THANKS again See you May 15 TIMMYI

I last visited your mine in the late 1990's. I found many beautiful specimens and was in love with the surroundings. Ponds etc. I hope to visit again soon. I just need to find someone who would like to visit with me.

Had a really great summer visiting your camp 4 times. First trip got me hooked as i fouind a nice specimen and many others. Brought wife and daughter the next trip and was excited to have a full bathroom to use which is a rarity in a camp so far from town. Very friendly staff of course and look forward to seeing you next summer!

Can't wait until you open for 2010 season! Bring Hubby & mom-In-Law to dig for fire opals (better bet of hitting than in Vegas or Reno!)

I dug on the last day the mine was open, saw Mr.and Mrs. Wilson and met their daughter for the first time ! What a great place to relax and dig for opals the new digging area is great plenty of bank and you can find lot's of petrified conk wood !!!!! The veiws are out-standing from the mine when you stretch your legs and take a break !!!!! Every dollar was well spent at this mine, this is the place to go in Virgin Valley, Nevada !!!!!
